Dr. David Guichet, Prosthodontist, Orange, California
Sponsor: Astra Tech
The profound success of implant therapy has created a new standard of care for the restoration of missing teeth. Implant design, abutment selection, and restorative design concepts affect treatment planning and the esthetic outcomes available to patients. Esthetic implant restoration can now be predictably achieved using a variety of prosthetic designs and materials. Today because of the increased success of osseointegration many design concepts are being applied which take advantage of esthetic, hygienic and/or prosthetic convenience rather than pure biological or biomechanical advantage design concepts of the past. This presentation will discuss the restorative options currently available for the treatment of the esthetic zone. This will include the types of abutments and the indications for their use. Also, the types of stents and goals of stent design, and the three types of provisionals used in treatment will be covered. Additionally, indications for immediate and early provisionalization will be discussed . Dr. Guichet will present a wide range of interdisciplinary clinical cases featuring treatment in the esthetic zone.
Course Learning Objectives:
- The goal of this presentation is to familiarize participants with the choices that affect esthetic success and esthetic limitations to the use of dental implants.
- Participants will understand how dental implant design, treatment sequence, and abutment choice can affect the predictability of the esthetic implant restorative outcome.
- Audience members will recognize the various treatment protocols used in the restorative process and the indications for each.
“DISC is powered by Knowledge Factory”
The Denver Implant Study Club (D.I.S.C) was developed by Dr. Aldo Leopardi, prosthodontist and is produced and powered by The Knowledge Factory. Introduced in February of 2003, it is an ongoing comprehensive study club directed towards the restorative treatment of dental implants.
“Developed by a professional, for professionals…”
This professional study club is unlike any other. The format is a series of lectures with extensive hands-on real world experiences that work with actual clinical scenarios applicable to the majority of dental implant systems available. The study club is prosthodontically driven and directed towards the general dentist. The main objective is to empower doctors and their offices while developing the highest level of medical care, techniques and implant practices.
